🎉🎉2025 Senior Spotlight 🎉🎉Genesis Contreras will be a 2025 graduate of Milan C-2 High School. She is the daughter of Nancy Contreras and Luis Garcia and sister of Gabriel Garcia and Eliseo Garcia. Her favorite family activity is going out to eat and spending quality time with her siblings.
Genesis has been involved in Multicultural Club (3), Art Club (4), Color Guard (4), and basketball (1) at Milan C-2. The activity she enjoyed most was Color Guard because she bonded with all of her teammates and learned new tosses. Her favorite high school memory is when she went to Pancake Day at Centerville, Iowa to perform in a parade. She really looked forward to walking to the white tent where they gave out fresh hot pancakes.
The class Genesis enjoyed the most was Algebra 3 because she would learn new math formulas; even when she struggled, Mr. Wilcox was always glad to help her understand the problem. One thing she remembers well is whenever she did not turn in an assignment he and the whole class would point at her and say, “Shame, shame, shame.” Mr. Wilcox also granted her the award, Best Punching Bag, on a notecard, celebrating their positive rapport and Genesis’ perseverance in the class. Her biggest pet peeve is when people change things last minute and noisy overcrowded spaces.
Outside of school, Genesis enjoys spending time with her family and quietly reflecting on her life. If she had one wish, it would be to repay everything that her mother has done for her because her mom has been her biggest supporter. The three words that best describe her are caring, brave, and hard-working.
After high school, Genesis plans to go to North Central Missouri College (NCMC), to pursue her dream career in becoming a pediatric nurse. In 10 years, she sees herself working in the medical field and traveling around the world. Three places to visit on her bucket list are Guatemala, so she can see her extended family and enjoy the views of the mountains; Europe, so she can explore France and Italy; and lastly Tokyo, so she can go to a popular car meet for the first time.
The person she admires most is her mom because she has taught her to keep her head up even in the most difficult times. She has taught Genesis how to be a hard worker, to always do things with a kind heart, and to always put God first.
The teacher who had the biggest impact on Genesis is Ms. Gittemeier because she made Genesis feel cared for and noticed at school. Ms. Gittemeier has made Genesis’s junior and senior years enjoyable.
The thing Genesis will miss the most about Milan C-2 High School is the fun pep assemblies that they would have during the football season. If there was one way she could be remembered at MHS, it would be as the student who would never fail to put a smile on other’s faces even if her day is not going well. The advice Genesis would give underclassmen is that no matter how hard life gets, you should never give up. What other people say or do about your person should not affect you. Learn from your mistakes and move on; time flies quickly when you least expect it, so it’s best to enjoy it as much as possible while also focusing on school. One piece of advice that Genesis has learned from her mom is whatever you reap, you will also sow.

Her favorite family activities are Bible studies with her dad, checking cows with her mom and stepdad, or family movie nights. Her favorite childhood memory is going on many vacations with her family.
Raegan has been involved in FFA(4) and NHS(2) at Milan C-2. The activity she enjoys most is FFA because she always enjoyed her AG classes, and the friendships built. Her favorite high school memory is when her class won the tiebreaker game of Tug-A-War at homecoming.
The class Raegan enjoyed the most was Food Science because she always got to learn how to make good foods, and she got to eat before lunch. Her biggest pet peeve is when people are mean for no reason.

After High School, Raegan plans to Attend the Academy of Solon Professionals and pursue her career to be an Esthetician. In 10 years, she sees herself owning her own business, and having a family of her own in the country. Three things on her bucket list are traveling the world, being successful, and saving all the cats.
The person she admires most is her mom because her mom is her best friend and she admires everything she does and hopes to be a great mom and wife like her one day.
The teacher that had the biggest impact on Raegan was Mr. Kelly because he showed her that no matter what was going on that day there was always something good in that day, and kept her positive when she was trying to graduate early.
The things Raegan will miss the most about Milan C-2 High School are her friends and the dress-up days for homecoming. If there was one way she could be remembered at MHS, it would be as someone easy to talk to, and helpful in any way. The advice Raegan would give underclassmen is don't be afraid to be different if it means people get to know the real you, high school isn't as serious as everyone makes it out to be.

The teacher that had the biggest impact on Nevaeh is Ms. Fullerton because she’s always there if you need to talk no matter the time of day.
The thing Nevaeh will miss the most about Milan C-2 High School is the downstairs AG room activities. If there was one way she could be remembered at MHS, it would be as hard working student. The advice Nevaeh would give underclassmen is always to step up to challenges, take risks, and never be afraid to push forward.
