Last night the Milan C-2 Board of Education approved the hiring of Coach Ben Miller as the new Head Varsity Football Coach and Weights Instructor for the 2025-2026 school year. Coach Miller will be graduating from Truman in May with his Masters in Education. He currently holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science and graduated Cum Laude in May of 2024 before marrying his wife, and fellow educator, Melia. Coach Miller graduated from Westran High School and shared that he was passionate about coaching football at a school similar in size and that he is excited to build on the traditions of Wildcat Football. After High School, he went to Missouri Western for two years and then transferred to Truman State University. While at TSU, Coach Miller was a four-year starter (2021-2024), a three-time team captain, a three-time American Crossroads Bowl Champion, and a two-time All-GLVC Conference Defensive Linemen. Coaches and staff that have worked closely with Coach Miller over the last few years boasted his leadership skills, work ethic, dedication to excellence in the classroom, and determination. Coach Miller shared with us that his goal is not just to coach football, but to develop young men into respectful, goal-oriented, competitive, and reliable people of the community. He also stated that he is, "Super excited to join the Wildcat Family and ready to get going. Let's get started!" Please join us in giving a warm Wildcat Welcome to Coach Ben Miller!

Last night the Milan C-2 Board of Education approved the hiring of Mr. Ched Hurley as the new Assistant High School Principal. This is Mr. Hurley’s 21st year in education and his 6th year at Milan C-2. Mr. Hurley is currently teaching special education and serving as our Athletic Director. He began his teaching career at Scotland County where he taught K-3 special education for two years. He then went to Putnam County where he taught 2nd grade for one year and 6th-8th grade special education after that. Mr. Hurley’s family then moved to Trenton in 2010 where he taught 5th-8th grade special education. He has coached basketball, track, softball, and golf, in some aspect, during those 21 years. Mr. Hurley has been married to his wife, Traci, for almost 31 years. They were fortunate to raise three wonderful daughters, Scotlin, McKinley, and Mykah. They are a very sports-minded family and enjoy spending their time in a gym or at a ballfield. Their children provided them with many years of traveling around the country playing on traveling teams and at the collegiate level. They have been blessed with six grandchildren, Fisher (14), Tucker (12), Piper (9), Bentlee (5), Kovey (6 months), and Banks (2 months). They look forward to following them and supporting their interests. Mr. Hurley’s mother and father were also educators and coaches. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, hunting, fishing, and of course, attending sporting events. He has been a Kansas City Royals fan ever since he can remember and a Kansas City Chiefs fan since the mid 1990’s. Collegiately, he mainly roots for any Missouri team. ___________________________________________________________ PRAISES: During Hurley's time as the Athletic Director he has started a new elementary football and basketball program. He has organized and started all the home summer basketball shootouts amongst many other things. He is already and will continue to be a valued member of the High School and District Leadership teams. He is efficient and organized at all times! We are very lucky to have him as a MC2 team member!!! ~ Dr. Ashley Pauley Mr. Hurley has been a great advocate for students and staff during his time at Milan High School and I can’t wait to see him have a larger impact on both groups as a building administrator. He has a career’s worth of experience in the Special Education department that will serve him well in his new role. ~ Mrs. Brooke Dodson _____________________________________________________________________________________ Mr. Hurley will officially assume his role as the Assistant Principal on August 1st of this year. Please join me in Congratulating Mr. Hurley in his new role as the Assistant High School Principal for the Milan C-2 School District!
