We had the pleasure of hosting our three newest members of the Milan Athletic Hall of Fame for a meal and campus tour before kickoff and their induction at halftime. Thank you to the families of Duane, Brad, and Chris who helped make tonight special and to MABC for sponsoring the meal and getting the T-shirts!

The community pep rally will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 7:00PM at Cal Hubbard Field, Milan Athletic Booster Club will host a light concession stand for those in attendance. The guest speaker for that evening will be Mr. Cary Maulsby. The Homecoming Queen coronation will take place at the end of the event. The school day will end at 12:45PM in preparation for the parade which will begin on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 2:00PM. There will be a Parade line up document and map available on the school’s website and social media by Friday morning. The traditional high school “Battle of the Floats” will take place with the winner’s float being displayed at the right corner of the football field during the homecoming game. The Grand Marshal of this year’s parade will be Mr. Cary Maulsby. Cary was a 1976 graduate of Milan High School and a senior who played center for the 1975 Hall of Fame football team. He has owned and operated his construction company since 1994 serving the Milan community. Cary, with his wife Janet by his side, has been a cornerstone of our community through his volunteer work and community service as the Milan Old Timers President, Sullivan County Expo Board President, Milan Athletic Booster Club member since 1992, and Milan C-2 School Board member for 9 years. As a member of these organizations and a volunteer for many community and school betterment projects, including being one of the lead members of the Booster Club that helped to complete the press box project, Cary has embodied what it means to be a lifelong Milan Community and Wildcat supporter. Cary’s enthusiasm for improving our school and community bleeds into his own children Wes, Haley, and Blake who all graduated from Milan C-2 as well. He and Janet continue to be active members of our community and school supporters. They are also proud of all of their grandchildren and know that their family Wildcat legacy continues in the grandchildren walking the halls of Milan C-2 each day (Tatum [future], Kamren [K] & Spencer [2] Maulsby and Krew [2], Rhett [8], & Keaton [12] Weter) and that their commitment to service continues on in their own communities for the grandchildren that do not attend Milan C-2 (Allie [8] & Lainee [11] Maulsby). We are excited for Mr. Maulsby to represent the Wildcats as Grand Marshal of the Parade and Speaker for the Pep Rally. The Queen and her court will meet for the Candidate’s Meal at 6PM before heading to The Pit for the Milan Wildcat Football game which will kickoff at 7PM. The Homecoming Queen and her court will take the field at halftime of the football game. We hope that everyone can get involved in some way and is able to attend and support our Milan Wildcats during this exciting time!

A Milan C-2 staff member was notified of a post on a social media story about our district that suggested our school could be the target of violence. Admin acted quickly to investigate the situation and found that no such video existed and it was nothing more than an ugly rumor between a small group of students. Lessons are being drafted to educate students on proper procedures if they are ever made aware of a suspected threat, either with their own eyes/ears OR via gossip. Student and staff safety is the highest priority of Milan C-2 Schools. As always, please contact any of our schools with information of potential threats. Thank you for partnering in keeping our Wildcats safe!
