Welcome back our alumni with your storefront this Homecoming by participating in the Community Decorating Contest!
The school is hosting the 7th annual storefront decorating contest and we want to see what you have to offer! This year’s theme is “VEGAS: What happens at THE PIT stays at THE PIT''. Show your Wildcat Pride to help get our Wildcats ready to beat the (Trenton) Bulldogs! All storefronts must be ready for judging by TOMORROW, Oct. 2nd.

Are you interested in having a float for the 2024 Homecoming Parade on October 4th? Follow the link below for details and the entry form: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1b-If7KQPkESOHqoR4fzlX6HwYul4XtyD/view?usp=sharing All entries are due by TOMORROW, October 2nd.

The 2024 Milan C-2 Homecoming will take place the week of October 1st through 4th concluding in the Homecoming game vs Trenton Bulldogs (Black and Gold). This year’s theme is “Vegas: What Happens at The Pit Stays at the Pit.”
Once again, the Varsity Cheerleaders have planned theme-related dress up days for students and faculty to participate in all week long leading up to Friday night’s game. Milan businesses are invited to compete in the 7th Annual Business Window Decorating Contest, judging will take place on Oct. 3rd at 9AM. The winner will be announced at the pep rally Thursday night and will be presented with a plaque.
The community pep rally will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 7:00PM at Cal Hubbard Field, Milan Athletic Booster Club will host a light concession stand for those in attendance. The guest speaker for that evening will be Mr. Cary Maulsby. The Homecoming Queen coronation will take place at the end of the event.
On Friday, the students will be competing for the HoCo Olympics plaque which the Class of 2027 won last year. The school day will end at 12:45PM in preparation for the parade which will begin on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 2:00PM. The parade will travel the traditional route: starting behind the school, turning north on Market St, and around the square. Participation is encouraged by everyone! Community floats need to be entered by submitting the float entry form to the High School Office by 1PM on October 2nd or emailed directly to bdodson@milan.k12.mo.us. There will be a Parade line up document and map available on the school’s website and social media by Friday morning. The traditional high school “Battle of the Floats” will take place with the winner’s float being displayed at the right corner of the football field during the homecoming game.
The Grand Marshal of this year’s parade will be Mr. Cary Maulsby. Cary was a 1976 graduate of Milan High School and a senior who played center for the 1975 Hall of Fame football team. He has owned and operated his construction company since 1994 serving the Milan community. Cary, with his wife Janet by his side, has been a cornerstone of our community through his volunteer work and community service as the Milan Old Timers President, Sullivan County Expo Board President, Milan Athletic Booster Club member since 1992, and Milan C-2 School Board member for 9 years. As a member of these organizations and a volunteer for many community and school betterment projects, including being one of the lead members of the Booster Club that helped to complete the press box project, Cary has embodied what it means to be a lifelong Milan Community and Wildcat supporter. Cary’s enthusiasm for improving our school and community bleeds into his own children Wes, Haley, and Blake who all graduated from Milan C-2 as well. He and Janet continue to be active members of our community and school supporters. They are also proud of all of their grandchildren and know that their family Wildcat legacy continues in the grandchildren walking the halls of Milan C-2 each day (Tatum [future], Kamren [K] & Spencer [2] Maulsby and Krew [2], Rhett [8], & Keaton [12] Weter) and that their commitment to service continues on in their own communities for the grandchildren that do not attend Milan C-2 (Allie [8] & Lainee [11] Maulsby). We are excited for Mr. Maulsby to represent the Wildcats as Grand Marshal of the Parade and Speaker for the Pep Rally.
The Queen and her court will meet for the Candidate’s Meal at 6PM before heading to The Pit for the Milan Wildcat Football game which will kickoff at 7PM. The Homecoming Queen and her court will take the field at halftime of the football game.
We hope that everyone can get involved in some way and is able to attend and support our Milan Wildcats during this exciting time!
